About Lightbound:

Lightbound is a story-driven mystery adventure set in modern day - on the brink of a dystopian future. Originally built as a traditional visual novel in Ren'Py, the game has been fully rebuilt in RPG Maker MV to offer more immersive gameplay, exploration, and interactive systems.

The Premise:

What began as a quiet night at a grocery store turns into a nightmare. You’re kidnapped during a strange robbery, only to awaken in an abandoned hangar on a remote island… surrounded by strangers.

Your captors give you one cryptic order:
Find a mysterious artifact hidden on the island—within 7 days—or face the consequences.

But the island isn’t just dangerous—it’s unnatural.
And something is watching.

Gameplay:

Lightbound blends the narrative depth of a visual novel with light adventure mechanics. In its current form, the game follows this structures:

• Explore 2D environments
• Engage in character-driven story scenes
• React with a QTE combat mechanic inspired by Helldivers 2
• Unlock critical story beats through fully rendered 3D cutscenes.

More mini-games and systems are planned for future builds.

Note: This game does not feature nudity or sexual content.

Development Status

This is an early public build covering the prologue. Some content has been rewritten, added, or removed compared to the original Ren’Py version. Please start a new save to experience the changes fully.

Future updates will expand the story and mechanics, with Chapter 1 currently in development.
